A skill you add to Claude. Then just ask: drop in your bank file and your AppFolio exports, and Claude runs the same checks as our free tools, with the playbook’s rules, and explains what to fix.

It runs in your Claude account. Your files go to Claude under your own plan, never to us: the skill makes no network calls.

What it does

Bank vs. books. Matches the bank’s CSV to AppFolio’s Bank Account Activity: voids, exact matches, batch deposits and payment runs. Lists what to record and what’s outstanding.
Why doesn’t it tie? Finds the item recorded with the wrong sign or swapped digits, and says where to look for the rest.
Duplicate bills. Scans Bill Detail for bills entered twice, and the bank for payments taken twice, with the dollars at stake.
Deposits, close and year-end. The deposit proof, the month-end checklist, the year-end folder, the 1099 checklist and a W-9 request letter.

“My reconciliation is off by $27.00 and I can’t find it. Here are both files.”
“Check this Bill Detail export for duplicate bills, and this bank file for anything paid twice.”
“Walk me through month-end close for one company and keep track of what’s done.”
“Write a W-9 request for a new plumber, and make me a 1099 checklist from this vendor list.”

How to add it

Claude on the web or desktop

Download the skill. Keep it zipped.
In Claude, open Customize, then Skills. (Older versions: Settings, then Capabilities.) Skills need code execution turned on.
Click +, choose Create skill, then Upload a skill, and pick the zip. Make sure the skill is switched on.
Start a new chat, attach your exports and ask. Claude picks the skill up on its own.

Claude Code

Unzip it into ~/.claude/skills/ for yourself, or a project’s .claude/skills/ folder for your team.
You should have ~/.claude/skills/xovion-books/SKILL.md. It needs Python 3.
Ask in plain words, with the paths to your files.
